Disposal Programs In the News - Videos

Students at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy created this video for NCPA’s 2013 Student Video Competition. Their video on the importance of proper drug disposal and NCPA’s Dispose My Meds program won the competition by receiving the most “likes” on Facebook. The students received $250 for their school’s NCPA chapter, courtesy of the Community Pharmacy Foundation.

Could medications be lurking in your drinking water?
An eye-opening Associated Press investigation identified a vast array of pharmaceuticals — including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans. NBC's Tom Costello reports.

If a drug take-back or collection program is not available in your area, please refer to Federal Guidelines from the Office of National Drug Control Policy on the proper disposal of medications.
